Identify relevant departments: Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Library, City Manager, Mayor
Review Master Plan
Step 2. Review sustainability goals in your municipal Master Plan
Attend a Meeting or Meet with Department Head
Step 3a. Attend a meeting of the group(s) most likely to engage in plastic waste reduction measures.
Review existing purchasing policies
Provide alternatives for food service items, waste cans, park benches
Discuss community-level opportunities for plastic waste reduction like ‘Beyond the Bin’ collection events and education programs
Step 3b. Reach out to the Department Head to request a meeting.
